22nd Annual National Energy Finance Challenge (NEFC)
This competition challenges teams from the country’s top MBA programs to address real-world finance issues relevant to today’s dynamic energy industry. Contestants will present their solutions to panels of senior executives representing multiple facets of the energy finance landscape.
The purpose of the event is to match executives and recruiters with the top energy-focused MBA candidates from around the country and to provide a unique learning experience for everyone involved. We expect to host 16 teams, consisting of 3-5 students (Teams must have a minimum of 2 first year students).

This year the NEFC will be held at Robert B. Rowling Hall in Austin, TX.

2026 Preliminary Schedule
- October 2nd — Registration for the NEFC challenge closes (email Fatima or Vlad below)
- October 12th — Case challenge materials distributed via email at 9:00 am (CST)
- October 26th — Case solution and presentation due by 5:00 pm (CST)
- October 29th — Event commences with a keynote speech and networking session
- October 30th — Competition takes place, additional networking events occur throughout the day
