Energy Finance Group at UT

Prior to attending UT McCombs, Brett served in the United States Army Reserves for 8 years as a Technical Engineer (12T) and was deployed to the Middle East as part of a specialized construction team. After his deployment, Brett worked at companies across the construction industry for the past 4 years, most recently serving as a HVAC and Plumbing Project Manager and Estimator.

Brett grew up in Orono, MN and holds a B.A.S. in Construction Management from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Brett is pursuing a career in Energy Investment Banking based in Houston, TX.

Before attending McCombs, Blythe worked at PwC in audit for three years, primarily serving asset management clients. She most recently worked as a financial analyst in corporate FP&A in the healthcare sector.

Blythe grew up in Dallas, Texas, and holds a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from Clemson University. She holds her North Carolina CPA License. Blythe is pursuing a career in Energy Investment Banking based in Houston, TX.

Before coming to UT McCombs for his MBA, Shivendu worked as Quant analyst, WTI/Brent Crude trader, and as Senior Program Manager at an asset backed lending company. Currently interested in all things energy, he is a very big football & motor racing fan and avid traveler.

Shivendu grew up in Gaya, India, and has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from BITS-Pilani. Shivendu is pursuing a career in Energy Investment banking in Houston, TX.

Before joining business school, Alex spent over 7 years in the financial industry, including financial restructuring, corporate development, and investment management. He most recently worked as a credit research analyst and high yield portfolio manager at Fubon Life, a leading Taiwanese insurance firm.

Alex grew up in Taiwan and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the National Taiwan University and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. Alex is currently pursuing a career in Investment Banking in broad energy value chain. 

Nick, a seasoned professional with four years as Senior Director of Operations and Logistics at Ficel Transport Inc., brings a wealth of experience to his MBA journey at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. During his tenure, Nick played a key role in Ficel Transport’s acquisition team, contributing to the establishment of a new warehousing division. Nick is passionate about pursuing a career in Energy Investment Banking in Houston, Texas. His background in operations and logistics, coupled with an MBA from McCombs, positions him as a dynamic professional ready to contribute to the energy finance sector.

Nick holds a B.S. in Accounting from The George Washington University and is known for his fervor as a Buffalo Bills and UT football fan.

Before attending McCombs, Barrett spent 5 years playing professional baseball in the New York Yankees Organization. He also volunteered with the Minor League Baseball Players Union towards the end of his playing career.  Outside of baseball, he worked for a General Contractor and Project Consulting Firm.

Barrett grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. Barrett is currently pursuing a career in Energy Finance.
