20th Annual National Energy Finance Challenge (NEFC)

This competition challenges teams from the country’s top MBA programs to address real-world finance issues relevant to today’s dynamic energy industry. Contestants will present their solutions to panels of senior executives representing multiple facets of the energy finance landscape.


The purpose of the event is to match executives and recruiters with the top energy-focused MBA candidates from around the country and to provide a unique learning experience for everyone involved. We expect to host 16 teams, consisting of 3-5 students (Teams must have a minimum of 2 first year students).

This year the NEFC will be held at Robert B. Rowling Hall in Austin, TX.

2024 Preliminary Schedule

October 7th - Registration for the NEFC challenge closes (email Cade or Cat below)

October 18th - Case challenge materials distributed via email at 9:00 am (CST)

October 21st - Case solution and presentation due by 5:00 pm (CST)

October 24th - Event commences with a keynote speech and networking session

October 25th - Competition takes place, additional networking events occur throughout the day with sponsors, and the winner is announced in the evening
