Prior to attending UT McCombs, Andrew held various petroleum engineering roles in the upstream oil & gas sector. He first spent two years in Midland with Pioneer Natural Resources, embedded in their pumping services division and production operations roles. Starting in 2018, Andrew rotated to Guyana as a drilling engineer, leading the execution of Deepwater exploration wells in Exxonmobil’s lucrative Stabroek block.
Andrew grew up in Houston, TX and holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. In his spare time, Andrew is an avid outdoorsmen, snow skier, private pilot, history buff, and traveler.
Derec previously worked at BOK Financial as a corporate credit analyst and commercial banker servicing commercial and industrial clients. He also worked as a senior financial analyst at Vail Resorts where he was able to combine his love of skiing with finance.
Derec grew up in Kansas City and attended Rockhurst University where he obtained a B.A. in Economics in addition to playing varsity baseball. When he’s not thinking about energy finance, you’ll find him playing golf, skiing, and riding his scooter around Austin.
Before business school, Lucas was a geologist with Cimarex Energy, later Coterra Energy, in Midland, Texas. He was responsible for planning and executing drilling programs to develop the company’s shale assets in the Permian Basin.
Lucas was born and raised outside of New York City and holds a B.S. in Geology from Binghamton University and a M.S. in Geology from the University of Colorado Boulder. He enjoys chess, backcountry hiking, and travel.
Aaron is a first year MBA student at the McCombs School of Business. He holds B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and began his career with Phillips 66 as a Chemical Process Engineer. More recently, he worked as a Project Manager for Merit SI, a renewable energy developer based in Houston, Texas.
Outside of school, he loves playing tennis, running the Town Lake trail, reading, and SCUBA diving. He is excited to work with such a great team in the coming year!
Kevin began his career working a variety of finance roles for tech and SAAS start-ups. He most recently worked for Jushi Holdings, a start-up multi-state operator of regulated cannabis businesses in the U.S. There, he helped grow the company from an infant stage of 4 employees to over 400.
Kevin grew up in Arizona s and holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Arizona. He is an avid golfer, loves sports, and enjoys anything outdoors, including his favorite hobby, photography.
